On 23rd and 24th September, the European Heritage Days will be returned all over Italy, an event that allows visitors to visit many cultural sites of our country thanks to their extraordinary openings.
The theme chosen by the Council of Europe for the new edition is “Culture and Nature”, a topic of great relevance that allows to deepen the interaction of man with the surrounding environment, in a large chronological arc that goes from prehistory at the time. For the Province of Macerata, among the open cultural assets, the Ministry of Cultural Heritage also included the archaeological site of Potentia, which will be visited on Saturday morning from 10.00 to 13.00. The entrance and the guided tour will be free of charge and managed by special agents of the Ministry of Cultural Heritage. For the occasion, the city of Porto Recanati intends to join the initiative guaranteeing the free opening of the Archaeological Exhibition “A Revealed Landscape – Potentia and the Valley of Power between the Apennine and the Adriatic Sea” set up on the ground floor of the Svevo Castle will be open on September 23 and 24 at the usual times, and the opening of the Potentia archaeological site on Saturday afternoon from 3:30 pm to 5:30 pm.
